Cut to size!

At Renier Natuursteen you can have your tiles cut to meet your exact specifications. This of course makes many things possible:

- A more attractive, tailored distribution of joints.
- Sizes are adapted to the shape of the terrace.
- The possibility to emphasize either the length or the width of the terrace.

Tiles: the price depends on the surface finish, the thickness and the size of the tiles.
Free length formats: the price depends on the surface finish, the thickness and the width of the rows.

The tiles and free length formats are divided into 4 categories, according to size:

- class 0 tiles: 0.05 m² < surface 1 tile < 0.09 m² (e.g. 30 x 30 cm)
- class 1 tiles: 0.10 m² < surface 1 tile < 0.19 m² (e.g. 40 x 40 cm)
- class 2 tiles: 0.20 m² < surface 1 tile < 0.29 m² (e.g. 50 x 50 cm)
- class 3 tiles: 0.30 m² < surface 1 tile < 0.39 m² (e.g. 60 x 60 cm)

How thick should the tiles be for which usage?

The thickness of the tile depends on the length, the width and the resistance to bending.
You can find more information on this in our " garden and terrace brochure "

Tiles and finishes

Sawn

The charm of these tiles comes from the irregularities that can be seen in the surface. These are mainly due to saw marks that produce vertical and horizontal bands of different colours, ranging from light grey to blue and occasionally yellow to red, which can be more or less pronounced.
When choosing these tiles, either for interior use or for a terrace, you should be aware of the typical, yet particular appearance that they will have.

Grey grinded

This finish is recommended for exterior use.
It most closely resembles the appearance that the material will take on after exposure to the wind and the weather.

Blue grinded

This finish is recommended for exterior use.
It most closely resembles the appearance that the material will take on after exposure to the wind and the weather, without the sanding marks being too obvious.
It is also sometimes referred to as “light honed G 300”, “blue honed G 300” or “light-blue honed”.

Fine bushhammered

The “Bushhammered” finish is ideal if the tiles need to be non-slip.
The finished surface is non-directional. Tiles can therefore be laid without having to take the direction of the finished surface into account.

Sandblasted

The “Sandblasted” finish has non-slip properties, but has a softer effect than bushhammered. This makes this surface finish ideal for swimming pool surrounds.
The finished surface is non-directional. Tiles can therefore be laid without having to take the direction of the finished surface into account.

Old Cut

The “Old Cut” finish has non-slip properties.
The finished surface has a clear directional pattern. This must be taken into account when the tiles are being laid.

Flamed and brushed

The “Flamed and brushed” finish also has non-slip properties.
The finished surface is only slightly directional.

Chiselled 15 chases/dm

The “Chiselled 15 chases/dm” finish has non-slip properties.
It is also sometimes referred to as “chased”. The chiselling can be coarse or fine depending on the size of the router and the spacings. The regularity of the finish means that it is possible to count the number of chases per dm.
The finished surface has a clear directional pattern. This must be taken into account when the tiles are being laid.

Combed

The “Combed” finish has non-slip properties.
This finish gives an alternating pattern of original cleaved stone and routed stripes
The regularity of the finish means that it is possible to count the number of chasings per dm.
The finished surface has a clear directional pattern. This must be taken into account when the tiles are being laid.

FLOOR STRIPS

The floor strips are reclaimed material and are therefore not subject to the strict quality requirements of Renier Natuursteen.
The surface is always sawn. Please note however that the reverse side may have a different surface finish!!!
The heads are generally, but not always, sawn.
Measurement tolerance for tiles +/- 2 mm.
Quantity < 25 m2: additional 10%.
Width: 20 cm.
Length: any length, no minimum
