A terrace in bluestone

An outdoor terrace in Belgian bluestone always exudes timeless elegance and undoubtedly offers lasting value to your home. Our Belgian bluestone and the exclusive Vinalmont corn limestone are quarried and processed locally, with a compact, non-porous structure that can withstand the vagaries of our climate. With a wide range of sizes and finishes, this stone effortlessly adapts to every trend and style, so there is always a suitable solution for your patio.

What should you consider when choosing your patio?

Aesthetic integration:

Your patio is an extension of your home and forms the transition to the outdoor space. For a seamless transition, choose the same tile inside and outside, making your yard a natural extension of your living space. In this case, a sawn or blue sanded finish are excellent choices, or a gray sanded finish for a concrete look.

Just want a contrasting effect?

Then you can go for a bold flamed and brushed finish that draws attention just outside.

Shape and laying pattern:

A square laying pattern with minimal joints creates a serene and harmonious look. For those who desire a more creative approach, a playful laying pattern offers more dynamism. A roman bond, for example, combines different formats in a particular repeating pattern. Smaller formats give more flexibility in design. Feel free to combine bluestone with other materials such as wood or cobblestones for a unique effect.

Size of the tiles:

Large tiles (60×60, 80×80 or even 1×1 meter) are currently popular, but it is best to take into account the surroundings, available space and weight. Larger tiles are more expensive and less suitable for smaller patios, where slightly smaller tiles (40×40, for example) are more appropriate.

Thickness of the terrace:

A thickness of 2 cm is usually sufficient. For heavily trafficked surfaces or where extra load-bearing capacity is required, we recommend a thickness of 3 cm.

Ecological and sustainable:

Our bluestone is quarried and processed locally with respect for the environment. The durability of this stone, which effortlessly stands the test of time, contributes to a low ecological footprint, an increasingly important criterion in today's landscaping and circular economy.

Low maintenance:

This million-year-old stone requires little maintenance and retains its elegant appearance over the years. Any grease stains disappear by themselves due to rain.

Exclusive look:

For an even more exclusive look, choose our Vinalmont mesh limestone. This unique, slightly grayer limestone develops a beautiful white patina over time, giving your patio a distinctive character.
