What is a window lintel ?
A window line is a structural element placed above a window opening to support the weight of the masonry or other building components above. The linteel prevents the pressure of the material above the opening from landing directly on the window frame, which could cause damage.

Why a window lintel in natural stone ?
A window liner in natural stone is often chosen for the following reasons:
1. Aesthetics and authenticity
- Visual harmony: Natural stone lintels blend perfectly with traditional or classic architectural styles. They give an elegant, authentic look and can be coordinated with masonry.
- Historical use: In historic buildings and restorations, natural stone is often used to preserve the original appearance.
2. Sustainability
- Weatherproofing: Natural stone is highly resistant to weathering such as rain, frost and UV radiation, making it long-lasting without significant wear and tear.
- Wear resistance: The material retains its strength and appearance even after decades.
3. Strength and bearing capacity
- High compression strength: Natural stone, such as granite or bluestone, can support large loads without deforming, making it suitable as linteel for heavy structures.
- Stability: It provides firm support over window openings, especially in solid, traditional buildings.
4. Maintainability
Natural stone requires little maintenance. It can be easily cleaned and remains resistant to erosion and discoloration.
