What are quarry stones ?

Broken stones are natural stones obtained by mechanically breaking large boulders or rocks, without further processing or grinding. As a result, these stones have irregular shapes and sharp angles.

Broken bricks add beautiful character to your home through their natural, irregular shapes and rough texture. These bricks add an authentic, timeless look reminiscent of traditional architectural styles and nature. In addition, the variations in color and texture create a unique and vibrant look, giving each application its own distinctive character.

Why break stones in natural stone ?

Fractured natural stone bricks are valued for their durability, aesthetics, and the authentic look they can bring to a project. Natural stone is naturally very robust and resistant to various weather conditions, making it an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor applications. Compared to man-made materials, natural stone ages beautifully, revealing the timeline of the material without losing its integrity.

The natural color variations, textures, and irregular shapes of quarry stones create a unique and vibrant look. This makes each application special, as no two pieces are exactly alike. The organic look of natural stone quarry stones gives a project a timeless and classic look, while still integrating well with both traditional and modern architecture.

In addition, natural stone enhances the connection to the natural environment. The use of fractured natural stone can help a building or landscape fit more harmoniously into its surroundings by using materials that occur naturally in the landscape. This contributes to a sustainable and environmentally friendly building style that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.

CLOSED

The raw stone is only cleaved and not worked. This technique enhances the rustic character of the stone, which can take a variety of shapes, from angular to rounded.

HALF FINISHED

Semi-finished stone is a good compromise between the rustic character of cleaved stone and the ease of masonry with worked stone. With its two parallel edges, it maintains an orderly appearance while still being able to accommodate rounded shapes.

FINISHED

The worked stone passes through the hands of our craftsmen, who shape each visible side of the stone to give it a textured appearance. This stone exudes solidity and seriousness and, thanks to its parallel edges, is easy to incorporate into masonry.
